I. airbag cover plate

Dow Corning multibase has been committed to applying thermoplastic elastomers to the field of airbag cover plate as early as the early 1990s. In 1997, the newly improved clamp with non spraying specifications was launched, with only one product to help customers reduce costs. At present, the products of polyolefin elastomer (TPO) and styrene butadiene block copolymer hydrogenated elastomer (tpe-s/sebs) have obtained the certification of major vehicle manufacturers and safety system suppliers in Europe, America and Japan, and are used for the covers of various airbags including DAB (driver air bag), PAB (passenger air bag), SAB (side air bag), cab (current air bag)

for a long time, domestic airbag cover plates are mostly made of spray grade materials. After injection molding, the cover plates need to be sprayed to improve the appearance and improve the scratch resistance of the finished products. Dow Corning multibase launched products with non spraying specifications, which can save customers the spraying process and cost without affecting the appearance, performance and reliability (it is estimated that this innovation will save customers about 25-50% of the cost). In particular, these products can meet the requirements of automotive interior parts in terms of scratch resistance, long-term heat resistance and UV resistance. Now, this solution is being promoted in domestic vehicle enterprises

in addition to non spraying specifications, Dow Corning multibase also launched tpe-s products with new spraying specifications based on the current battery extrusion experimental machine in the domestic market in the form of advanced pressure system, so as to meet customers' requirements for product performance under extreme conditions (such as immediate ignition at - 35 ℃) and provide an economic alternative to polyester elastomer (TPE-E). This product has excellent mechanical properties, excellent processing performance, excellent apparent effect (after spraying) and shrinkage similar to TPE-E products used in the current market

according to the calculation, by using tpe-s or TPO elastomers instead of TPE-E materials, the material cost of a single product can be reduced by 45% - 65%. On the one hand, the reason for the significant reduction in cost is the strong competitive price of multiflex products, On the other hand, the density of the material itself is small (0.88 g/cm3-0.93 g/cm3, about 1.18 g/cm3 relative to TPE-E elastomer. In addition to innovative and cost-effective solutions, global intelligence and local support enable Dow Corning to provide a full range of technical services on customer needs, from mold design to spraying process, from material selection to on-site parameter commissioning. II. New PP Reinforced modified material micro talc

traditional talc filler is generally used to improve the hardness and temperature resistance of modified PP, but it does not significantly improve the strength of the product. Micro talc, a lamellar talc filler recently introduced by Dow Corning multibase, has a unique lamellar spatial structure and high specific surface area, and is highly dispersed in the carrier through patented technology, which can significantly improve the physical properties of modified PP. Thus, it becomes an alternative to General Mineral Filled PP or some engineering plastics, which brings customers the benefits of reducing costs and improving material recycling

even at a low filling ratio, micro talc can still significantly enhance PP and balance the impact strength and hardness. At the same time, compared with General Mineral Filled PP, the tensile strength of micro talc modified PP has been significantly improved. In addition, the isotropy of shrinkage also improves the processing accuracy of products

compared with General Mineral Filled PP, micro talc modified PP has the following advantages:

At the same time, micro talc modified PP has better processability than glass fiber modified PP, and has better dimensional stability, isotropic shrinkage, better appearance, and greatly reduces the wear of screws in processing

at present, the application of micro talc modified PP is mainly concentrated in some fields that replace ABS, nylon and glass fiber modified PP

1. wheel hub decorative cover plate

at present, pc/abs, nylon or modified PP materials are mostly used for the wheel hub decorative cover plate of domestic complete vehicles. Using micro talc modified PP to produce hub decorative cover plate can improve processing performance, reduce product weight (up to 25%), and improve heat resistance and flame retardancy under the same conditions

2. Dashboard

micro talc modified PP is a cost-effective choice for hard plastic dashboard of economical passenger cars and engineering vehicles. On the one hand, it can reduce the weight of products by% and greatly improve the scratch resistance, thermal stability and dimensional stability of products. For blister dashboard or semi-rigid bubble dashboard, micro talc modified PP can become a skeleton material with good performance, replacing the currently used modified materials such as pc/abs, PP, SMA, PPO (PPE), so as to reduce costs and improve recycling. III. triangle window glass edging SEBS thermoplastic elastomer

with the improvement of domestic automobile design and processing level, integrated injection molding triangle window components are being used by more and more vehicle models. At present, commonly used injection molding materials include PVC, PU and TPE. The price of PVC material is the lowest, but due to the impact of ELV act and environmental protection considerations, its application will be gradually reduced in the future. Pu material has excellent weather resistance and good fluidity, which is more suitable for making large-size parts and projects with strict weather resistance requirements. Compared with PU materials, TPE materials have obvious price advantages, and the thermoplastic characteristics make the materials easy to recycle, which represents the development trend of triangle window coating materials in the future
